So, I decided to take some measurements today. The first number is my starting stat.
Stats after 2 weeks:
Weight - 161.3 159.2
Chest - 39 37
Waist - 37 1/2 36
Hips - 43 42
Thighs - 39 38 3/4
Total weight lost = 2.1 pounds
Total inches lost = 4.75
I haven't lost anything in my arms, but I can feel the muscle under the fat...I couldn't do that before. So yay me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week was my "monthly" week so I didn't exercise like I should, but I'll jump back into it next week. I'm trying not to focus on my weight and look at the inches and where I can see a change.
Baby steps...right? I didn't gain this weight or get this out of shape in a few weeks, so I can't expect miracles. But I do like the fact that I'm seeing some progress.

I do not like Yoga X
Okay, I've tried to do the Yoga X twice now and couldn't. And I don't mean physically it was too challenging...I mean it was so mind-numbingly boring that I had to turn it off. Yikes, what a beat down. I'm just going to drop it from my workout rotation.
Today I did arms, shoulders and abs. Abby is my new workout buddy/personal trainer. She was fetching me water and telling me to "touch my hand" just like Tony from the DVD's. I love that kid! She said I had to drink lots of water so I wouldn't die! LOL
I can't be sure, but I think my jeans are a little baggy in the booty. Yay!

End of week 1
Well, I survived my first week. I didn't take measurements (I'll wait until Week 4) but my weight is:
159.4
Starting weight: 161.3
I'm gonna call it 2 pounds lost. ;0)
I'm finding that I'm a little stiff/sore for a day after the workout, but not so much that I want to stop. It's kind of a pleasant reminder that I'm working my muscles.
This week I want to focus more on my eating habits. More fruits and veggies.
On to Week 2!!

Day 5 of P90X
So yesterday was the Super Bowl and I never found time (made time) to do my workout. This morning I had a doctor's appt with the ENT to review my CT scan of my sinuses. I woke up with an awful sore throat and the forboding feeling that I had strep.
Not wanting to feel like a complete loser, I did about 20 minutes of the 90 minute Yoga program this morning that I should have done last night. I really didn't feel good, but I felt like something was better than nothing.
After coming back from the doctor and taking a nap, I went ahead and tried to do my workout for today (Back, Shoulders and Abs). I managed to do it at about half speed, but again at least it was something.
And I find out that I have chronic sinusitis...wonderful. I may or may not have surgery...I have to review my options.

Getting Support
One of the main concerns I had about starting the P90X program was that the intensity (translation time away from family) was going to be an issue. And honestly, I think when I told Jim I had purchased exercise videos, he rolled his eyes a little.
And then yesterday I did my workout in the bedroom. He came in and was folding clothes. After a few minutes, I realized that he was doing the workout with me! He only did a few moves, but after I was finished he looked at me very seriously and said, "I'm really proud and impressed that you're doing this."
He finally got that this wasn't just another girlie, dancing around workout video. And he realized my commitment to the program. It helps to know that he "gets it".
I'm surprisingly not sore? I bought hand weights yesterday, but I'm going back today to buy heavier ones. I grabbed 3 pounders, but I think I need 5 pounders. I didn't really feel it yesterday.
Today is Yoga...it's a long one like an hour and a half but I'm looking forward to it. I've always liked yoga.

Day 2 - Cardio X
I did much better on the Cardio DVD than the other one. But still...room for improvement.
I was sore today but not in excruciating pain. If I moved a certain way...I would feel a twinge, but I could move at least!
I know it's only been two days and it's mostly mental at this point...but I feel better. Those little twinges in my legs, back and abs remind me that I'm taking my first steps toward being healthy.
Tomorrow is Shoulders, Back and Abs...I've done the Ab Ripper X and it's killer! Wish me luck!

Part 1 - So annoyed! Part 2 - It's here!!
Part 1: My P90X hasn't arrived yet...because of the weather it's sitting on a truck somewhere! But on the bright side, being home several days this week...I'm not eating that much. I'm also not sitting still much. So I guess there is an upside to this whole icy mess.
The downside is that the kids are making me crazy. I'm running out of things to do to entertain them. I bought some molding clay but that won't keep them busy for long. My mental wellness is suffering!
Part 2: It finally arrived and after reading through the instructions and watching the intro video I did my first workout. Holy CREEE-AAAPPP!! It was called Core Synergistics and it was an HOUR LONG. And I don't mean you sat there for ten minutes and did a little workout...I mean you were moving the WHOLE time.
I did as much as I could, but I have a lot of room for improvement. ;) I bet I won't be able to move tomorrow.

Okay, so ya'll have to yell at me if I start to slack off. The program has a workout for six days a week and then a day of rest. So I have five more days to go before I get to "rest"....LOL.

February 1 - Day 1



Okay, enough is enough. I have become that woman that I used to make fun of. Always "dieting" and talking about losing weight but never following through on anything. I'm done! I'm tired of looking in the mirror and being unhappy. I'm tired of wondering if my clothes will fit from week to week.
I'm going to put it all out there...maybe the public humiliation will spur me on when my will fails me.

In case you were wondering, I'm only 5 feet tall and medium build.
Several people at my office are doing the P90X workout program with fantastic results. I decided to go ahead and order it...it should be here tomorrow. So this is my "before" post...complete with photos.
